Having successfully closed on over a hundred transactions, Jed has brokered all types of real estate, including waterfront homes, loft-condominiums, restaurant sites, office buildings, manufacturing facilities, warehouses, and medical office space. Jed is proud to be serving in 2015 as the Chairman of the New Haven Middlesex Association of Reatlors (NHMR) Commercial and Investment Division (CID), as well serving on the NHMR Board of Directors . Brokerage:   Residential: Transactions include single-family homes, multi-family homes, apartments,condominium units, and raw land. Extensive experience in all aspects of residential brokerage. 

                Commercial: Sale and leasing of all types of commercial properties, including office buildings, warehouses, manufacturing facilities, retail centers, restaurants, and land. Extensive experience in the disposition of REO properties.

Management: As an adjunct to brokerage, Backus Real Estate assumes management of foreclosed commercial properties for remote lenders. Responsibilities include securing properties and assets, collecting rents, paying utilities, and handling all maintenance and repairs until properties are sold.

Consulting: Lease negotiations, broker price opinions, pre-foreclosure property evaluations, project feasibility reviews, and appraisal reviews. Clients include banks, corporations, attorneys, accountants, and individuals.

Development: Completion and sale of residential projects, including apartment and condominium complexes. Highlights include a 22-unit refurbishment project at Thompson Gardens in East Haven, and participation in a 90-unit condominium conversion project in West Haven.

Vail Resorts, Marketing and Research– 2001-2002

Research Team Lead, Beaver Creek Resort: Managed a team of twenty-two researchers in the collection of daily demographic and customer satisfaction surveys. Results were reported at bi-weekly meetings with upper-management and utilized for marketing purposes as well as internal quality-control.
