Jed Backus

Jed Backus began his career in real estate in 2002. Joining the company's team of commercial agents, Jed has worked on leasing, sales, and consulting for local businesses as well as large national corporations and institutions. When two development projects included over 100 residential units, Jed expanded the company's footprint by incorporating a residential sales division. Today, he continues to assist companies and institutions meet their commercial real estate needs, and oversees the activities of BRE's residential services division. Prior to joining Backus Real Estate, Jed worked in the marketing department of Vail Associates, Inc, managing a team dedicated to market-research.

Jed takes an active leadership role within the real estate industry. He currently serves as President of the New Haven/Middlesex Association of Realtors. He has also served as Chair of the NHMR Commercial & Industrial Division, Director at the CT Association of Realtors, and currently sits on the National Association of Realtors Commercial Federal Policy Committee.

When not working, Jed enjoys hiking, skiing, tennis, reading, travel, and home-cooked food & wine among friends!
